As a result of the introduction of the PLACE assessments (patient-led assessments of the care environment), the NHS has identified a programme of works to be undertaken within various NHS funded care establishments.
We were commissioned to carry out two contracts for the PLACE works to refurbish and enhance four separate NHS facilities.
All the works were carried out in live environments where the activities have been fast tracked to accommodate the requirements of the premises and to provide the least amount of disruption as possible, in short turnaround periods.
Contract 1:
Kidderminster Hospital – Robertsons Centre – Mental Health Block
We carried out a complete refurbishment of the female toilets and the family room. This involved all works included flooring, ceiling, M&E and redecorations.
The Princess of Wales Community Hospital – Bromsgrove
We re-floored and redecorated the minor injuries and day clinics centre in the Princess of Wales Community Hospital. We also completely refurbished the x-ray reception area, installed a DDA compliant counter, redecorated, laid new flooring and carried out electrical works.
Contract 2:
Osborne Court – Malvern
We refurbished the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and utility room for the residential respite centre for children and adults with learning difficulties. We also carried out external enabling, hard landscaping and installed automated external doors.
Cromwell House – Worcester
We refurbished two kitchens and a shower room for the adult mental health recovery unit.
