Arden Construction were successful in completing the refurbishment and alterations of the existing mental health and administration centre at Covercroft Day Centre, in Droitwich.
The building is a local authority owned health centre of a late 20th century design with a half atrium in the middle corridor area through the middle of the building.
The works were undertaken over an eight week period, as one project in two phases with a temporary partition to divide the building into two parts for the works duration. This was to minimise disruption to the working health care centre which consisted of the NHS’s primary and mental healthcare departments with healthcare staff.
Activities included dismantling existing partitions, relocation of existing reception area, creation of new counselling rooms, mechanical and electrical works, new ceilings and flooring and general redecoration works. We also relocated the archive files from Evesham hospital to Covercroft.
Due to the sensitive nature of the works and the live environment there was close liaison with the Estates Project Manager and the site operational manager, daily interface was required in regards to health and safety i.e. dust prevention, privacy, security , assessment of any risk or hazards and timing of activities, establishing when hazardous or disruptive works could take place.
Arden completed the project on time and to budget.
All works were undertaken with Arden acting as Principal Contractor.
