Stratford District Council regularly have various contracts let out for different roofing repair works. This contract included preparing, removing and disposing of failed or loose materials, demolition, masonry, roofing repairs, recovering and upgrading insulation, lead-work, joinery, electronics and all other internal trades to various buildings.
We undertook the building repairs and roofing maintenance works to eight properties within the Stratford upon Avon District. All the activities were undertaken in live environments and occupied during working hours.
We had to undertake a considerable amount of controlled asbestos removal on all these locations, and the amount of debris and the age of the property meant it was a challenge not to disturb anything. Health and safety was paramount on all locations.
We liaised with all the stakeholders before and during the construction works in order to minimise disruption. The collaboration also led to cost savings as we were able to suggest using different materials, which kept the quality of their initial materials but reduced the cost.
Approximately 95% of our suppliers were sourced locally from the Stratford area and we worked with the community throughout to reduce any disturbances to daily routines and businesses, for example noise, deliveries and accesses.
